I absolutely loved the "convenient amenities" like the fast wifi and tour assistance. The breakfast was so simple, it made my heart sing. And let's not forget the thrilling recreational opportunities, just exhilarating!
Oh, and who needs power adapters? It's so much fun to blow all my electronics.

I loved having to make my own meals in the shared kitchen and the simple breakfast really hit the spot. The hotel's proximity to a mall was just what I needed for some retail therapy. The international power adapters were a great touch to remind me that I'm far away from home.
Oh, I absolutely adored the fact that there were no distinct male and female shower areas! Such a refreshing and liberating experience.

the staff went out of their way to accommodate us, even allowing me to pay later due to currency exchange issues. the location was great, with many restaurants nearby, and I particularly enjoyed JJ turn right out of the main gate. the room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff were always helpful and friendly. They even surprised us with flowers on the bed to celebrate our honeymoon. the breakfast was excellent, and the wifi worked well even in the room.
Don't have any issues at all. 😊

The breakfast options are limited and could be more varied to cater to different dietary preferences.

The hostel had free WiFi and useful tour assistance, and it was conveniently located near attractions. The shared kitchen and daily breakfast were great for making my own meals. Oh, and the international power adapters were just what I needed!
Who needs soap in the bathrooms anyway? Definitely not me!

I recently stayed at a wonderful hostel in Sandakan and had a great experience. The cleanliness of the hostel was impressive, with spotlessly clean bathrooms and common areas. It was so clean that I felt comfortable walking barefoot. The showers had hot water and there were plenty of sinks with pump hand soap, which was a nice touch.
The wifi in the common area was strong, although it was a bit weaker upstairs. However, this was not a major issue.

Excellent value for money! We stayed in a clean and spacious room with comfortable beds. The location was perfect, close to restaurants, shops, and the bus station. The manager, Johnatan, was incredibly helpful. Although we found a hair in the bed, it didn't take away from the overall wonderful experience. I highly recommend this guesthouse.

The room at Borneo Sandakan Backpackers was cozy and comfortable, perfect for our family of four. We loved the 24-hour hot shower in the shared bathroom, which was a great way to relax after a long day of exploring Sandakan. With free Wi-Fi, we could stay connected and share our amazing experiences with friends and family back home.
Personally, I wasn't a big fan of the shared bathroom setup, but I understand that some people might not mind it at all.

I stayed at Borneo Sandakan Backpackers for a few nights and it was one of my favorite hostels during my travels. The staff was incredibly friendly and even sent me an email letting me know my room was ready early - a first for me! The room itself was bright and spacious, and everything, including the shared showers and toilets, was very clean. The location was also ideal, right in the center of town. An added bonus was the delicious breakfast that was made for you. I was thoroughly impressed with this hostel.
Would be happy to recommend this hotel.

The cleanliness of the accommodation was impressive, the cleanest I've seen in a long time.
The lack of distinction between male and female shower areas was unexpected and could have been improved. It would have been nice to have a door or curtain to separate the bathroom area from the main corridor for added privacy.
